Designed as PCMCIA plug-in module, the PC Node allows the communication between a notebook and the MVB/AF100.

This board is being used as a maintenance and diagnostic interface within the train control automation – MVB. Once inserted in a notebook, the PC Node is accessible as a standard PCMCIA card.

The design includes the entire logic of the PCMCIA-Slave interface inclusive the CIS table. Among other things the ASIC contains also an interface, which allows reading and writting of the “Traffic Memory” from the notebook.

A local processor system – Motorola MC68340 & 1MB SRAM & 2MB Flash – off-loads the PC from the computing intensive tasks for the bus administrator functionality.
